Oh Tokyo. The land of good food, amazing people, and some of the best shopping in the world. I get the opportunity to go to Tokyo every few months with Snidel. And every time I fall in love with the city just a little bit more.
Here are my top two neighborhoods to shop till ya drop:
Omotesando Hills: For Vintage & Thrifting
While the main stretch of Omotesando Hills is lined with designer boutiques, the real gems are tucked into the meandering side streets. Tokyo is known for their second-hand stores, and this is where you’ll find it. Rows of vintage Chanel bags. Unworn second-hand Yeezys. Supreme t-shirts lined up on the racks. This ain’t Buffalo Exchange, people.
Here are some of my favorite spots:
Vintage Qoo-Chanel bag heaven
Brand Collect-Lightly used designer pieces
DOG-Lady Gaga shops here. You’ll get why if you go
Flamingo-A classic thrift store with awesome finds
Immerse yourself in Japan’s overwhelming fashion culture, then pop across the main road to Takeshita street and explore Harajuku.
Aaoyama: New Designers To Know
I love this upscale local neighborhood. It’s more tranquil than the Tokyo you probably know and expect. But this is where all my favorite designers are. Undercover. BAPE. Off-White. Thom Browne. Comme Des Garcons. Balenciaga. You get my drift. Don’t forgot to make a pit stop and refuel at Café Kitsune and Blue Bottle in the neighborhood. Cofee-shop must sees!
