Sunshine, tequila, and some of the nicest people in the world. What’s not to like about Mexico?
As one of my favorite vacation spots (and an easy trip from coast to coast), I’m always looking for new hotels to check out in the land of extra guac. My recent trip: Banyan Tree Mayakoba.
Just a four-hour flight from NYC, I met up with my LA girlfriend for a quick weekend getaway to Mexico. Set in along the Riviera Maya, Banyan Tree Mayakoba is a quiet oasis set on small canals that run through the nature.
-villa rooms with private pool
-rainforest spa water treatment
– outdoor bath tub (ask for the rose petal bath)
– private white sand beach with crystal clear water
-free bikes to explore
Who it’s good for
About 20 minutes from Playa Del Carmen, Mayakoba is a remote compound ideal for relaxation. You’ve got a few other hotels around (like Andaz and Rosewood), but that’s pretty much it. So if you’re wanting to head to town for dinner, drinks, or just to explore—expect a cab over to Playa Del Carmen.
