Let’s talk about it. Age. As women, we’ve got an unspoken timeline set up for us by society. From getting the job, to finding the man, to buying the house, to having the children—our paths and our milestones seem to be already set before us.

I teamed up with SK-II to share their new video, The Expiry Date, which challenges the pressure women face regarding age. The constant feeling that time is running out. And the idea that if we haven’t gotten married by a certain age, we’re spoiled milk. But I’m with SK-II. And I say f**ck that.

As a 24 year old living in New York City, outside pressures are coming in hot: “You should probably start looking for a boyfriend now, so you can be in a serious relationship by 26, engaged by 27, and married before 30.” What happens when I turn 30? Do I turn into a pumpkin? Do I shrivel up into dust and disintegrate into the air? And what if I don’t find the man of my dreams by 30? Am I expected to settle on whoever best fits the part?

Let’s not live every day like a ticking time clock. I’m with SK-II, let’s #ChangeDestiny

This post was in Partnership with SK-II.

I can relate with your thoughts about age, sometimes I feel like society teaches girls how to fear time.

I am absolutely obsessed with that photo of you! It’s a great campaign and I feel like a topic that’s not being discussed enough in public. The pressure that women in their mid twenties are feeling are all nonsense. If I don’t have a boyfriend by the end of my twenties it still doesn’t mean I am gonna die alone or with twenty cats.

I love that you are talking about this because it is so true. THere is so much pressure on women in their 20’s and it’s so unnecessary. xx, Erin –

Age – we often talk about it and our fears. But in the end it is just a number! I enjoy every second, not thinking about it!

Love this post! There’s so much unnecessary pressure, and it makes no sense. I’m 23 and get pressured to buy a house or move to a bigger home, while I am actually perfectly satisfied where I am currently… It’s just stupid! And you’re right, there seems to be an expiring date on everything. Stupid! Love this post <3!

I love SK II, it is one of the brands that I swear by and have used it for more than a decade. Ha, I turned 30 and had a melt down, so please do not do that! Take it as it comes, I have learned that every one has a totally different time line!

Darling, I can relate! But you know what, settling isn’t an option. I believe things will fall into place at the right time, whatever the case might be.
    Remain fabulous!

Age is just a number, everyone should live their life at their own pace!

  • Reply Kiri June 28, 2017 at 6:42 PM

No you don’t shrivel up after 30.

Remember dear, people who try to teach you, try to judge you, are actually those who never found their own happiness and living by the rules! The best advice would be to ignore them completely and let them live their boring lives!

Screw age! It’s only a number, live a happy life and the rest will fall into place! That said.. other things do fall with age! So preventative maintenance is always a good idea with skincare ;)
