Rocked this adorable little Red Valentino dress from Hollywood Closet on a day in Brooklyn with my blogger girlfriends. And the topic on everyone’s lips these days is Instagram. And how it’s changing
If you’ve noticed a drop in engagement and a stunt in your growth…you’re not alone. It seems that the guys at Instagram have finally caught wind that their biggest competitors are, well, the very people using their app. Because instead of paying for “Instagram ads,” brands are promoting via influencers and celebs. And now Instagram is trying to change that.
The reaction? People are going nuts. From buying followers, getting fake likes and fighting for collabs, people are selling their souls to try to stay afloat. Which, in my opinion, is only hurting the blogging community more.
What can we do about it? This: Stay true to your brand. Keep close connections with your followers, peers, and PR contacts. You’ve worked so hard to create these relationships. And no matter what happens to Instagram, these contacts are concrete. Start really honing in on who you are, what your brand is, and what skills you’ve acquired to tackle the next phase in social media…whatever that may be.
