One of my favorite things about blogging is learning the ins & outs of fashion in different countries. And I don’t mean the famous designer names we all know, but the more intimate cultures within a nation. The types of bloggers, the aesthetics, the smaller brands that represent style in that country. And I must admit, when it comes to minimalist fashion (my personal favorite), the Australians really know their stuff.
As I first began to familiarize myself with the blog world, I started to realize that all my favorite big time bloggers were from down under. Oracle Fox, Modern Legacy, Harper and Harley, Chronicles of Her. To name a few.
And then I started to get a feel for the Australian aesthetic. The black and white Instagram feeds. The cute cafes and coffee obsession. Even the “smaller” bloggers never fail to impress me with their impeccable aesthetic–like Base Colour, Jacquie Alexander, and Twice Blessed.
As my blog grew and I began to work with brands, my favorite collaborations were the ones from smaller Australian labels. Like this piece from Finders Keepers. Or C/MEO Collective, Ellery, and Dion Lee.
I never knew it before, but when it comes to sleek, simple style, Australians take the cake.
